Chowchilla is a rural community in the “middle of nowhere” and “two hours away from everything.” Yosemite National Park, Kings Canyon National Park, the beautiful California coast are all about two hours driving time away and are great destinations for rest and relaxation. Shopping trips can be easily organized to Fresno, CA (about an hour south of Chowchilla) or Gilroy, CA (home of the famous outlet stores about an hour and fifteen minutes east)

Chowchilla offers a wonderful organized school system, a local hospital, medical, dental and chiropractic offices. Everything is in short driving or even walking distance. There are also great restaurants and motels along highway 99 to provide for a pleasant stay in Chowchilla.

Many residents are employed in the agricultural field and in the nearby correctional facility. Others find employment in local stores and administrative jobs.
